"* What is the ancient lotus ?" This lotus is a flower of the miracle which flowered by the effort of Dr. Ichirou Ooga as for the seed of lotus found from the peat layer at Kemigawa-cho, Chiba Pref., Japan with the log boat in 1951. Atomic Energy Research Institute in the United States is assuming this was of 3000 years ago by measuring a radioactive carbon though this ancient lotus was presumed to be 2000 years ago by Dr. Ooga from an existence condition in peat layer and the underground temperature and related data. Anyway, it is the one by distinguished services of Dr. Ooga that "Lotus is a symbol of peace." is assumed to be a motto, and his life was put on the research of lotus. * Photo Exhibition " Ancient lotus"

"** What is the Jomon period ?" The Jomon period is an archeological term designating the Japanese neolithic cultural period extending from about 8000 B.C. or earlier to about 200 B.C. Straw-rope pattern pottery (Jomon ware)is one of the characteristic objects in the period.
